About

My name is Nicky. I am a yoga teacher in Essex.

I have been practising yoga for eighteen years and teaching for eleven years. In some ways it seems like no time at all and at other times that I have always done it!

My initial training took place in exotic Morocco, and I do love Hot Yoga. However, my interests in yoga are broad. My influences are Rodney Yee, Jason Crandell, Vera Scaravelli and Eric Schiffman. These guys inspire my own practice. Essentially I teach Hatha Yoga with some  flow. I love to link movements to create flowing sequences that challenge both physically and mentally but feel it is so important that the alignment of individual poses is correct. I am something of a magpie and take ideas from Ashtanga to Yin.

I believe yoga can be enjoyed by everybody, regardless of age or physical ability, you do not have to be flexible to start practising yoga!  Everyone can find some yoga to enhance their lives. I am able to tailor my teaching so that every individual can achieve their full potential. Additionally I am a certified Pregnancy Yoga teacher. I am a member of Yoga Alliance. I am also a qualified First Aider.

If you are looking for a safe but thorough exercise system maybe because you are recovering from an injury or you wish to enhance other sports activities, developing long lean strong muscles in yoga could be the answer. Yoga is especially good for creating a good all round strong supple body. Often women can lack upper body strength and yoga can address this without the need for heavy weights.

If you cannot see the perfect class for you please contact me as I offer private classes £42 per hour (plus travel if you want me to come to you). This can be especially beneficial to those with injuries and or people who need a specific programme, everyone can benefit from personal consultations.

I lived in Brentwood for twenty-five years and that is where I built up Brentwood Bliss Yoga but I have recently moved to Ingatestone. I have had a purpose built  log cabin studio constructed at the bottom of my garden which perfect for yoga and meditation. I invite you to join me.
